Granada is one of Latin America's most beautiful cities. This ancient town on the shores of mighty Lake Nicaragua is full of history and Spanish colonial charm and is one of the oldest European settlements in the western hemisphere.

Day 1 Masaya and Granada.

We start the journey to Nicaragua, by passing the border, where we also enjoy breakfast. Then we will go along the western shores of Central America's largest lake, Lake Nicaragua, towards Masaya. The route passes the massive dual volcano island of Ometepe via the isthmus of Rivas the historic land bridge that connected the two great continents north and south.

We will reach the historic city of Masaya. Masaya has been populated for more than 3,000 years and the arrival of the Spanish in the early 16th century organized the local artisans in small workshops for export. Then we go to the Masaya volcano, where we can observe the crater and it is magnificent activity. From Masaya we head to Granada, where the lodging for the night is at the beautiful and authentic Hotel Granada We start day 2 with breakfast at Hotel Granada, and then a horse carriage will pick us up, and take us for a trip around Granada. On the way we will stop at a church, where you have the possibility to go up in the tower, and get a beautiful view of Granada and its surroundings. After this, we will head to the Lake of Granada, to go on a boat trip to the islets in the lake. And now it is time for lunch and then we head back to Costa Rica
